Combine treks in Sydney’s spectacular parks, coastlines
and reserves with strength, core stability, interval training, balance,
flexibility and relaxation exercises and nutritional and lifestyle
advice.
Interval style training makes the sessions suitable
for all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced.
Gain trekking specific fitness, increase strength
and tone, reduce body fat, improve balance, stability and flexibility
and learn how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Group sessions are run on alternate Sunday mornings in the Eastern
Suburbs and Northern Beaches (8.30am start).

Trek Fit Program ($250):
- A comprehensive lifestyle questionnaire to help you identify
your appropriate exercise level and lifestyle factors to change
to achieve optimum health.
- A 10-week balanced training program.
- A one-on-one consultation on nutrition and lifestyle.
- Session 1 - Initial fitness assessment and flexibility
session, Centennial Park (1 hour).
- Session 2 – Trek around Manly Dam with interval training
session, Garrigal National Park (2 hours).
- Session 3 – Trek around Middle Head and Swiss Ball
core strength training session, Sydney Harbour National Park (2
hours).
- Session 4 – Trek around Long Reef with trek performance
and balance session, Northern Beaches (2 hours).
- Session 5 – Trek from Spit Bridge to Manly and finish
with relaxation exercises, Sydney Harbour National Park (2-3 hours).
- Session 6 - Final fitness reassessment, Centennial
Park (1 hour).
Trek Fit Plus Package ($400)
includes the Trek Fit Program above together with:
- A Kathmandu heart rate monitor to help you effectively and safely
increase your fitness level.
- A pedometer to track your daily movement and to encourage you
to increase your incidental fitness levels.
- A copy of How to eat, move and be healthy by Paul Chek - a complete
guide to achieving optimum health.

What is Trek Fit?
Trek Fit is a holistic exercise program that focuses on trekking
around Sydney’s spectacular National Parks. The aim of Trek Fit
is to help you safely and effectively improve all aspects of your
health and fitness in preparation for trekking adventures such as
Kokoda, Oxfam Trail Walker, the Himalayas or New Zealand. The program
consists of 6 x 1-3hr sessions run over a 10 week period together
with nutrition and lifestyle advice to help you reach peak condition
to take on challenging treks.
Do I need to be fit to join Trek Fit?
No - that's why you are coming to us! You will receive a comprehensive
lifestyle questionnaire to help identify your appropriate exercise
level. With the Trek Fit Plus Package you will also receive a heart
rate monitor and pedometer to make sure that you exercise at your
own level. On day one of the course you will also take part in an
initial fitness assessment so that we can adjust our program to
suit all participants. For example, on group treks, participants
will train using interval style principles. All participants will
walk together at a comfortable pace and then at various points,
members will be trained at their individual optimal levels before
heading off again as a group.
What sort of results will I get?
Trek Fit is a holistic exercise program that is designed not only
to prepare you for trekking adventures but also to improve all aspects
of your health. The physical benefits include increased fitness
(cardio) levels, reduced body fat, improved balance, stability and
flexibility and increased muscle tone. The comprehensive questionnaire
and nutrition seminar will help you make long term healthy lifestyle
choices. The treks are also designed to reduce your stress levels
and energise you as you enjoy the spectacular natural beauty that
exists in and around Sydney.
When does the next course run?
Trek Fit starts approximately every 3 months. The next course starts on 6th July 2008 and the sessions are run on the following Sundays - 6/07, 20/07, 3/08, 17/08, 31/08, 14/09.
How is Trek Fit different to other fitness programs?
- Trek Fit focuses on developing trekking specific fitness through
realtime outdoor training around Sydney's spectacular parks and
reserves.
- Trek Fit is designed to help you achieve long term health improvements
rather than unrealistic “quick fixes”.
- Although Trek Fit is a group program, the trainig and advice
is individualised so that you have a safe and effective program
to help you prepare for your individual goal.
- Your instructors don't only challenge and motivate you physically,
but mentally and emotionally as well.
- Trek Fit is strictly limited to a maximum of 15 people.
